During yesterday’s hostilities, three US missiles — identified from fragments as AGM-84K SLAM-ERs, billed as the most “accurate” weapon in the Navy’s inventory — slammed into a busy wedding hall. Four people were killed, including four-year-old Amir Ali Karimi, and over 63 others were greviously wounded. Fifty of the injured are women and children.

In response, the Trump administration said it was “aware” of the incident but that “the US military never targets civilians, unlike the IRGC,” which we know to be patently untrue. A communication tower some 430 feet away was also hit, which raises some deeply disturbing questions.

Was this a tragic mistake? Was it a deliberate act of terror given the touted accuracy of this missile? Or, even more alarming, did one of Pete Hegseth’s AIs decide on its own that this building was a military target? Either way, there must be accountability for these heinous crimes against humanity the minute Democrats take back the House. Respect for human life MUST be re-established in the United States government.

ICE detainee dies just hours after he was admitted into detention
A Chinese immigrant was found dead just hours after being booked into immigration detention in a US territory, according to ICE. Lianyong Wei, was arrested by the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Department of Public Safety on Aug. 21, after allegedly attacking a family in their home, officials said.

A day later, Wei, whose legal immigration status ended in 2019, was taken into custody “without incident, pending his removal proceedings.”

Wei marks the 57th death of an immigrant detainee held in the care of the government since the start of President Trump’s second term, according to ICE’s detainee death notifications. Twenty-four of those have occurred since Jan. 1.
