Mike Johnson freaks out on reporter after challenged on Iran War
CNN’s Manu Raju confronted Speaker Mike Johnson about his defense of the Iran War and his responsibility for it, and Johnson grew angry. “Mr. Speaker, on Iran, you said repeatedly that this war was going to be over soon. You said that this would be a temporary blip on short-term, on gas prices. It has been more than six months. People are getting hurt still at the pump. Should the American people not also judge you on your projections here that were clearly off base?” asked Raju.
Johnson looked shocked that Raju would dare to ask him that. “That is one of the stupidest questions you’ve ever asked,” he snapped. “I have nothing to do with the prosecution of the war across the globe.” “Why is that stupid? You, you are responsible –” replied Raju. “You are selling this to the American public, are you not?”
“Should the House Speaker be held responsible for the duration of a military conflict around the globe? Answer that question,” retorted Johnson before leaving.
