Top Stories for March 26:

Republican sycophants give Trump totally made-up “America First Award” in pathetic display of fealty
The 2025 FIFA Peace Prize winner was just presented with yet another incredibly silly and completely made-up award yesterday, this time by pipsqueaker of the House Mike Johnson during a National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser. Johnson presented the vainglorious imbecile-in-chief with the first-ever “America First Award,” stating, “We could think of no better title for what that is” — which is a weirdly honest way of admitting you are fundamentally incapable of mustering a single, original thought.
That Republicans chose this moment — with Donald “No More Wars” Trump teeing up a $200 BILLION war-funding request to continue his imperial misadventure in Iran — to give the MAGA cult leader a participation trophy for pretending to put “America first,” says more about their utter disdain for the average American voter than anything else. They truly believe we’re this stupid. Let’s be sure to set the record straight in November.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump panics with desperate shutdown announcement
The MAGA cult leader’s latest government shutdown gambit is backfiring bigly, so he’s naturally playing the desperate blame game in a bid to pin the ongoing TSA debacle of his own making on Democrats. While Donald Trump yesterday may claim it’s Democrats who are refusing to make a deal on funding the government, Donald Trump from several days ago sounded just a little different: “I think any deal they make I’m pretty much not happy with it.” And standing on a tarmac in Florida just three days ago he screamed this command to congressional Republicans: “Don’t settle. Don’t settle. Because we have something bigger. Only settle if you get the SAVE America Act.”
He knows we know how time works, right?

Senate Republican pulls shocking bait-and-switch stunt to circumvent democracy and appoint his successor
Seth Bodnar for Senate: Sen. Steve Daines demonstrated the characteristic Republican corruption and double-dealing that voters are so tired of when he dropped out of the Senate race at the last minute, allowing his hand-picked successor to replace him on the ballot. Seth Bodnar has spent his career serving our country in the military and his state as president of Montana University, and now he’s running to rid the Senate of a Republican who serves only himself. Will you chip in to help kick-start his campaign and deny Trump his Senate majority?
Trump DOJ gifts pardoned felon Michael Flynn $1.2 million in taxpayer dollars to settle lawsuit against government
Donald Trump’s lackeys at the Justice Department just “settled” a lawsuit with convicted felon Michael Flynn — who the MAGA cult leader pardoned in 2020 before leaving office the first time — and agreed that US taxpayers would gift the seditious traitor and unhinged conspiracy theorist $1.2 million. Flynn — who pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to the FBI — filed a $50 million lawsuit against the US government in 2023, baselessly claiming he was the target of a malicious prosecution. Flynn was one of six Trump associates charged as part of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia meddling on behalf of Trump’s 2016 presidential bid; Trump eventually pardoned or commuted the sentences of all six perps. Justice, huh.
Trump telling aides he wants Iran war to end soon
Seems like an exit strategy for a war of choice is something Donald and his imperial goons should’ve cooked up before they started blowing up school buildings and hospitals and assassinating Iranian leaders, but what do we know? When will Republicans learn that it’s orders of magnitude harder to end a war in the Middle East than it is to start one?

Trump slams Supreme Court justices he appointed: “They sicken me”
A beleaguered Donald Trump stood at his grievance podium yesterday during a Republican congressional fundraiser and absolutely unloaded on the US Supreme Court, singling out two of his own appointees for daring to cross him and strike down his idiotic tariff crusade. Trump called out Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett by name, and told the audience — again, made up of Republican members of Congress — “They couldn’t care less, and not that it matters — doesn’t matter at all — but two of the people that voted for that I appointed, and they sicken me. They sicken me ’cause they are bad for our country.”
When you endlessly enable an amoral, malignant narcissist, this is exactly what you get: a wannabe dictator who demands undying loyalty to himself above all else.

Melania Trump escorts humanoid robot at White House education summit
Sources say it was the warmest interaction the first lady has shared with a companion at the executive mansion in years. Many people were asking, “Which one’s the robot again?”

GOP lawmaker lashes out at journalist pressing him about Israel: “I’d bust your face right now”
Justin Kanew, founder of progressive news outlet Tennessee Holler, pressed Republican state Sen. Paul Rose on legislation that would prohibit Tennessee state agencies from using the term “West Bank” to identify, um, the West Bank, because the Bible, or something? And, boy, Rose was not in the mood.
Kanew, who described himself as a Jewish American with relatives in Israel, questioned Rose on who wrote the bill and why state lawmakers in Tennessee were busying themselves with such legislation in the first place, particularly at a time when Israel has essentially coaxed the United States into a war of choice with Iran. The increasingly agitated Republican tried to avoid Kanew altogether before pivoting and firing off, “You know, if I was at home I’d bust your face right now, but I’m not.” A visibly discombobulated Rose then claimed he wasn’t threatening Kanew (he most certainly was) and walked aimlessly in circles before escaping in an elevator.
Trump regime expands $15,000 visa bond program to 50 countries
Traveling to the United States for a quick work trip, vacation, or long-overdue family visit just got a helluva lot harder for tens of millions of would-be foreign visitors, as the Trump regime quietly announced it was expanding its controversial visa-bond program to a dozen more countries, bringing the alarming total up to 50. Trump goons claim the program is designed to curtail short-term visa overstays, but human rights advocates point out the program disproportionately hurts small businesses and family visitors from lower-income (i.e. “shithole“) countries and functions as little more than a “pay-to-visit” scheme. Sounds about white.
