Donald Trump’s years-long crusade against four-term Congresswoman Ilhan Omar took a decidedly darker turn this week, with federal agents raiding her Washington, DC, home in an investigation The Wall Street Journal says is meant to culminate in the revocation of her US citizenship and, ultimately, her deportation.
Omar, it definitely should be noted, arrived in the United States from war-torn Somalia as a teenager in 1995. She became a US citizen in 2000.
Trump gave away the game, pretending to have nothing to do with the vindictive raid hours after he definitely orchestrated it: “I’ve always found her to be totally crooked, personally. But that has nothing to do with me. I think she’s a terrible person, just a complainer. She comes from a country that is a non-country. And then she comes over here and she complains about our Constitution. I think she’s a terrible person.”
If only Omar had emigrated to the United States the *right* way, as a foreign model traveling under false pretense as a tourist while actively and illegally working in the country before eventually landing a wealthy anchor husband.

Elon Musk throws Trump under the bus for Ukraine intel disruption
The world’s richest man, who has thrown more than a quarter billion dollars into the midterms to boost Republicans’ prospects of staving off a blue wave, wasted little time assigning blame for the abrupt disruption in Starlink service that has proven vital to Ukraine’s success in thwarting Vladimir Putin’s imperial aggression and years-long invasion.
Elon Musk did not deny that his company’s satellite-supplied internet service was suspended in Ukraine earlier this week as Russian missiles barraged Kyiv and claimed the lives of multiple civilians. Instead, he blamed the lapse directly on the US military and Donald Trump.
“Starshield systems are owned and controlled” by Washington and that “any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS,” Musk tweeted.
With the critical Starshield defense system suddenly throttled, Russian ballistic missiles hit two plants supplying heat and electricity to Kyiv, damaged a residential building in the capital, and killed least nine civilians, according to Al Jazeera.

Trump doubling down on Russian diesel deal as Republicans run from it
Donald’s Hail Mary Russian diesel deal to stave off electoral disaster next month is going over like a lead balloon among Republicans who have zero appetite for cozying up with Vladimir Putin, whose imperial invasion of Ukraine has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians and hundreds of thousands of troops on both sides since the work began in early 2022.
It’s also quite obviously a case of “too little, too late,” as there isn’t any clear answer on exactly when 300,000 tons of Russian diesel will actually arrive in the United States and ostensibly help lower skyrocketing prices at the pump.
Republicans are scrambling to distance themselves from the ethically unconscionable deal, publicly bashing the diesel agreement and advocating for other solutions that don’t include throwing a financial lifeline to a murderous dictator.
