Trump sparks fresh health concerns with confusing “great daughter” post

Donald Trump inexplicably posted a shout-out to a “great daughter” over the weekend sharing a photo of a 74-year-old woman who definitely is not his daughter. The baffling post immediately set off fresh concerns about the 80-year-old wannabe dictator’s mental state, as the woman he was publicly paying tribute to was neither of his actual daughters, Ivanka or Tiffany. “Great daughter. My Honor!!! President DJT,” Trump wrote.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump loses it in unhinged new screed on reflecting pool fiasco

Unrelenting coverage of the world’s most famous algae bloom has really gotten under Donald Trump’s thin skin, and he’s going to greater and more desperate lengths to explain his $14 million debacle away, laughably accusing unsuspecting tourists and curious National Mall visitors alike of treachery and sabotage. Science, of course, has a slightly different take on the matter, and darned if Twitter isn’t chock-full of receipts.

Paralympian Democrat Josh Turek goes for gold in must-win Senate race in Iowa

Josh Turek for US Senate: Josh Turek is a two-time Paralympic gold medalist for Team USA and self-described “prairie populist” currently representing the reddest state House seat held by a Democrat in all of Iowa. The same grit and determination that helped Josh overcome 21 surgeries by the age of 12 to become a US Paralympian will serve him — and all of Iowa — well in the US Senate, but he needs our help to win back the open seat currently held by retiring Republican Joni Ernst. Will you chip in to help Josh flip this critical seat back into the blue column and send an unmistakable message to Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress that a new day is dawning in America?

Trump accuses newspaper of “treason” after it questioned what the Iran war had actually achieved
Displaying once again his tenuous grasp on the only language he speaks, Donald Trump accused The New York Times of committing literal treason for daring to cite actual military analysts and MIT professors to report that his wild misadventure in Iran didn’t end quite as triumphantly as he has breathlessly claimed. Trump vowed legal retaliation, thumb-smashing on his social media platform, “I will be adding all of their false and ridiculous reporting to my multi Billion Dollar lawsuit against them. They are Criminals!”

Someone at the White House might wanna crack open a dictionary for Donald, or, if they’re feeling really brave, explain the First Amendment to him in elementary terms.

Lindsey Graham predicts Trump will “obliterate” Iran if Strait of Hormuz is messed with

Wait, didn’t Trump already — and repeatedly — obliterate Iran, before the Strait of Hormuz was “messed with?” And how many times can one country obliterate another before we all agree we should probably stop using such ridiculous rhetoric?

Revelation of Tulsi Gabbard’s link to religious cult leader who allegedly guided her career raises eyebrows

A Washington Post report revealing Tulsi Gabbard’s lifelong connection to a reclusive Hare Krishna “guru” that some former followers described as a cult leader is shining a rather unflattering spotlight on the recently ousted Trump administration official, who until just a few weeks ago was charged with running the United States’ byzantine national intelligence programs.

A former member of the breakaway Hindu sect turned over internal records to investigative journalist Jon Swaine, who described their contents as “extraordinary.”

“Dozens of attached memos appeared to document directives and advice for Gabbard from her time in Congress. Some contained instructions on what legislation she should propose, which policies she should embrace and how she should conduct herself on television. They had an air of authority,” Swaine wrote. According to one of Swaine’s sources, Chris Butler — the “guru” who guided Gabbard’s career — was “obsessed with politics” and wanted “to rule the world.”

Trump admin denies JD Vance was snubbed at Iran summit after awkward video hits social media
Whatever you do, don’t believe your eyes and ears. But definitely DO take the Trump regime’s bald-faced lies at straight-face value.

Keir Starmer announces resignation, becoming 6th UK prime minister to leave office in the past 10 years
Embattled Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced he will resign as Labour leader and step down in the coming weeks. Starmer’s fall in popularity has been remarkable, particularly given the party’s huge general election victory in July 2024, which swept Labour to power for the first time since 2010. In hindsight, that victory was as much a result of the unpopularity of the Conservative government it replaced as of any overwhelming support for Labour or Starmer himself.

Andy Burnham, the mayor of the Greater Manchester region in northwest England, recently returned to Parliament and confirmed he would put his name forward in any upcoming leadership contest. Under the UK’s parliamentary system, whoever is named the next Labour leader will automatically become the new prime minister as leader of the largest party.
