Mary Peltola is on the verge of a historic win in deep-red Alaska
Mary Peltola for Senate: Beloved Alaskan Mary Peltola won Alaska’s ranked-choice primary by 8%, has a commanding lead in the polls, and just defeated her Republican opponent, Dan Sullivan, at the debate table. But the race isn’t over yet, and there’s still a lot of time between now and November for Republican dark-money PACs to unleash lies and smears against her. We’ve got to strike while the iron’s hot. Will you chip in to help native Yup’ik fisherwoman Mary Peltola flip this critical red seat and make Trump a lame duck president?
Washington Post journalist hospitalized after Israeli settler attack
Dozens of Israeli settlers beat and robbed veteran Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine Friday during an attack on an olive tree grove in the West Bank. The Israelis, masked and dressed all in black, beat the Palestinian villagers harvesting olives while chasing out a group of journalists there to document the work. The settlers descended from a nearby hilltop settlement, hurling rocks at the gathering before setting the grove aflame. Levine was caught in the mix. She was in a vest that read “PRESS” on the front and the back, but the attacking Israelis did not care to differentiate her. Instead, they knocked Levine to the ground, kicked and beat her, and then stole her cameras and phone, reported the Post.
The attack on Levine came less than two weeks after settlers assaulted AFP photographer Jaafar Ashtiyeh. Israel has also killed at least 247 media workers since the conflict began three years ago, according to a September report by the Committee to Protect Journalists. At least 192 of those individuals were Palestinian journalists working in Gaza.
MAGA Republican Andy Biggs wrote that “nothing good” came from early 20th century Constitutional amendments, which included the 19th Amendment
Mega MAGA Trumper Andy Biggs, who is running for governor of Arizona, isn’t a big fan of Constitutional amendments that were passed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, according to a book he self-published in 2015. History buffs might note that the 19th Amendment, which finally gave women the right to vote, was passed in that pesky period Biggs characterized as being plagued by “crazy leftist ideas.”
Biggs’ own daugther, who is running for Arizona state Senate this year, seemed to agree at the time, when she suggested that women should just stay home and not run for political office. Compelling stuff not at all incompatible with modernity, Andy! Keep up the good work!

2019 review of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s immigration records found insufficient evidence of wrongdoing
Turns out Donald Trump has been down this xenophobic road before, and his first administration’s investigation into Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar turned up nothing of substance to merit any legal action. Makes you wonder why he’s back on his wildly racist bullshit again, eh?

Jesse Watters admits there’s something “off-putting” about Ken Paxton and his “whiff of corruption”
Uh, more like overwhelming stench of corruption, but it’s nice to see you *starting* to come around on the objectively abhorrent Texas attorney general, Jesse. Now do the rest of the deplorables in the GOP you breathlessly defend on a nightly basis!
Doom and doomer
And in other news
Hope…
