“I looked at his ass”: Trump cops to checking out senator to confirm he’s “a great athlete”

Donald Trump is an exceptionally weird, incredibly racist, and — occasionally — accidentally hilarious man. At a pep rally for Republican incumbent Jon Husted yesterday, the MAGA cult leader veered waaay off script and just started publicly thirsting over the 59-year-old seat-warming senator from Ohio who is vying for a full term in November against Democratic challenger Sherrod Brown.

There really isn’t much else to say beyond just sharing the transcript, so…here goes something: “But I’m standing over here, and I don’t do this with men very often. I started examining his body because I didn’t know he was a great athlete. And I looked, and I watched up and down. I looked at his ass and I looked at the whole — and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these, like, claws. And I got it. You are a great athlete. I didn’t know that because he doesn’t talk about that. Congratulations. Now, they finally know. That was very good.”

Yes. Yes it was, sir. It was so very good.

Ken Paxton dealt crushing blow to campaign

Brian Tyler Cohen breaks down MAGA’s disastrous last-ditch effort to smear James Talarico by floating a baseless conspiracy that he checked into a mental hospital in Ohio, of all places. He actually had the flu. And, because this is 2026, there are receipts.

Mary Peltola is on the verge of a historic win in deep-red Alaska

Mary Peltola for Senate: Beloved Alaskan Mary Peltola won Alaska’s ranked-choice primary by 8%, has a commanding lead in the polls, and just defeated her Republican opponent, Dan Sullivan, at the debate table. But the race isn’t over yet, and there’s still a lot of time between now and November for Republican dark-money PACs to unleash lies and smears against her. We’ve got to strike while the iron’s hot. Will you chip in to help native Yup’ik fisherwoman Mary Peltola flip this critical red seat and make Trump a lame duck president?

Trump stands by and cracks jokes as MAGA crowd member violently assaults a protester at his Ohio pep rally
At the very same rally where Donald Trump endorsed GOP Rep. Max Miller, who has been accused of heinous domestic violence against his wife and child, a woman protester was viciously beaten by a MAGA fan while the president of the United States egged him on and mocked her.

“He’s a paid protester, they’re all paid. They get paid by the lefties in order to destroy our country. They’re scum. But he’s going back home to mom!” said Trump as police escorted the woman out and let the violent perpetrator off scot-free. “Always got to go on a diet. He’s a fat guy. Wow!”

As if we needed any more evidence that Trump’s GOP is the party of cowards and wife-beaters.

AI “godfather” calls Trump a “corrupt, senile felon” who is clueless about AI
On the one hand you have Geoffrey Hinton, the “godfather” of artificial intelligence, warning in plainspeak that Donald Trump is a “corrupt, senile felon” whose fixation on the term superintelligence proves he knows nothing about the technology that could literally end humanity. On the other you have an 80-year-old, dementia-addled insomniac who says his “high IQ” is the only guardrail needed to protect human civilization from the existential threat posed by AI.

In these complex and trying times, it’s hard to know who to believe.

Kacey Musgraves takes Kristi Noem to the woodshed with brutal clapback

For some inexplicable reason, former South Dakota governor and disgraced ex-DHS Sec. Kristi Noem thought the world wanted her to weigh in on the US Senate race in Texas and Kacey Musgraves’ support for Democrat James Talarico. Noem took an unsolicited swipe at the Texas-born Musgraves, earning a pitch-perfect clapback from the country music star: “I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.”

GOP group spent $20,000 running ads supporting Maine Sen. Susan Collins — in the wrong Portland
A super PAC aligned with Our Lady of Perpetual Concern Susan Collins dropped $20,000 on television ads to boost her electoral prospects against Democratic challenger Troy Jackson. Collins, a lifelong Mainer, has spent 30 years representing the Pine Tree State in the US Senate, so it was of particular note that a GOP group tasked with sending her back to DC for a sixth term opted to run television ads in THE WRONG PORTLAND.

Oregonians were likely more than a little confused why they were being flooded with ads attacking “taxin’ Troy Jackson,” a man most of them have probably never heard of.

Keep up the good work, people! We hear there a lot of folks in Augusta, Georgia, who aren’t exactly sure who to back in this critical race. Time’s a-wastin’!

Pennsylvania reports its sixth measles death this year. RFK Jr.’s CDC still says it’s two
If a Pennsylvanian needlessly dies from a once-eradicated disease, but the CDC refuses to acknowledge it, did their life even matter to the criminally ignorant quack running the agency into the ground in the first place?
