Trump gleefully accepts secondhand Nobel Peace Prize in pathetic Oval Office spectacle

María Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition leader who won the Nobel Peace Prize last year, gifted the physical medal to Trump on Thursday in a desperate ploy to wriggle herself back in line for a chance at power in post-Maduro Venezuela. Like two New York City subway rats battling it out over a moldy bagel, sometimes you see something that is just truly humiliating for all involved. María, it’s time to get real. It’s not happening. Donald never had any intention of replacing the Maduro regime or installing democracy in Venezuela; he just wanted a splashy headline and unfettered access to the world’s largest known oil reserves. For Trump, this is a new low in valor-stealing awards he didn’t actually win. Congratulations on acquiring your newest monkey paw, sir! And please enjoy the insidious voice in the back of your pickled head reminding you that President Obama — a Black man, no less! — actually won his Peace Prize every time you look at “yours.”

California attorney general launches formal investigation into nonconsensual, sexually explicit images generated by Elon Musk’s Grok

Brian Tyler Cohen spoke with California Attorney General Rob Bonta about the formal investigation his office just launched to tackle the hugely problematic proliferation of sexually explicit, nonconsensual images Grok won’t stop generating and disseminating online. To be clear, the xAI chatbot’s proclivity for creating these images in “spicy mode” — as Elon is fond of calling it — is not a bug or glitch in the system; it is a feature. Grok has no guardrails, by design. Bonta has vowed to “dig deep” and take appropriate action to rein in the intentionally exploitative chatbot, which is currently functioning like the runaway id of its ketamine-addled creator, a pompous man-child perpetually operating with the emotional intelligence of a 14-year-old boy who just found his dad’s Playboy collection.

Freshman Democrat under ATTACK for standing up to the GOP

Nellie Pou for Congress: Nellie Pou has only been in Congress a few months, but she’s already facing a barrage of GOP attacks for voting against their destructive budget bill that would hand out huge tax breaks to the wealthy while RAISING taxes on working families. Just a few days ago, the NRCC issued an error-filled press release written by Big Business lobbyists that falsely smeared her with lies. She’s one of the few Democrats to win her seat in a county that voted for Trump; she’s going to need all the help she can get if we want to protect the MUST-HOLD seat and retake Congress. Will you chip in to thank her for doing the right thing and helping her weather the storm against GOP attacks?

Republican rep says votes exist to impeach Trump if he invades Greenland
Uh, we’ll believe it when we see it. Members of today’s Republican Party sure like to talk a tough game, but caving to their cult leader is their real modus operandi. Case in point: late last year Donald Trump vindictively vetoed two bipartisan bills that passed the House and Senate — with unanimous consent. When it came time to override the vetoes just days later, Republicans tucked their tails and crumbled. Should the MAGA cult leader eventually act on his imperial obsession to simply take Greenland, something tells us the GOP will trip over itself to stay out of Dear Leader’s way.

Trump threatens to invoke Insurrection Act in Minneapolis
Right on cue, Donald Trump is now openly threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act in Minneapolis. Like a scenario lifted straight from a “Fascism for Dummies” handbook, Trump’s ICE ghouls have unleashed widespread havoc in the city under the guise of cracking down on illegal immigration. Having successfully rained terror on Minnesotans and incited the necessary and predictable backlash from a community that doesn’t care much for jackbooted thuggery, a pretext for sending in military troops has successfully been established. None of this is normal, but all of it has been foreseeable. We call it fascism because it is fascism.

Take Action: Tell Congress: It’s time to defund ICE!

80 Democrats move to impeach Kristi Noem as ICE terror grows

More than 80 House Democrats have co-signed articles of impeachment for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The bill, introduced by Illinois Representative Robin Kelly, comes amid ratcheting tensions in Minnesota, where aggressive tactics by ICE goons have led to multiple shootings involving federal officers and widespread protests in Minneapolis. Noem’s gestapo-style tactics and reckless leadership have left communities and families devastated,” Kelly tweeted on Thursday. Dozens of Democrats lent their name in support of the measure, including all four Democratic representatives from Minnesota: Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, Betty McCollum, and Kelly Morrison.

CBS News report on ICE officer’s suspicious injuries drew “huge internal concern”
Witnessing the ongoing contortion act of a once-serious news outlet bending over backwards to appease Donald Trump and the MAGAverse is obviously disturbing and sad, but it isn’t remotely surprising. CBS News ran an eye-popping story on Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Good multiple times in the face before calling her a “fucking bitch,” parroting a narrative straight from the Trump regime that triggered “huge internal concern” and simply did not align with coverage from other mainstream news outlets. CBS cited unnamed “US officials” in reporting that Ross suffered “internal bleeding” from injuries he mysteriously sustained before killing Good. If you’ve watched the infamous video footage, you know this claim is horeshit. But, of course, the network ran it anyway. Hats off to Trump toady Bari Weiss, who’s really doing a bang-up job putting the BS back in CBS.

The mother of one of Elon Musk’s kids sues xAI for alleged Grok-generated nude and explicit photos of her
Ashley St. Clair has filed a lawsuit against xAI over explicit and degrading images Grok generated from photos of her, despite her repeated protestations and requests to have them removed. St. Clair, a conservative influencer and the mother of Musk’s one-year-old son, Romulus, is suing her ex’s artificial intelligence company, claiming it is “profiting off of the creation and dissemination of deepfakes,” characterizing the act as “intentional.” According to the lawsuit, upon discovering an altered photo of her in a “black string bikini,” St. Clair publicly responded to Grok and said she “did not consent to being undressed, having any intimate content produced, or having her image altered in any way.” While the chatbot confirmed her images would not be used or altered without explicit consent in the future, that simply was not the case. “What ensued was countless sexually abusive, intimate and degrading deepfake content of St. Clair being produced and distributed publicly by Grok,” the lawsuit reads. “Among other things, X users dug up photos of St. Clair fully clothed at 14 years old and requested Grok undress her and put her in a bikini. Grok obliged.” Imagine, for a moment, being Elon (truly sorry, but bear with us) and explaining this to Romulus when he’s a teenager. Beyond words.

Federal immigration agents filmed dragging US citizen from her car in Minneapolis
Absolutely nothing troubling about jackbooted ICE thugs dragging a US citizen — on her way to a medical appointment, no less — out of her car and violently arresting her in broad daylight, with cellphone cameras rolling. Aliya Rahman said she was on her way to a routine appointment at the Traumatic Brain Injury Center when she was arrested, taken to a detention center, and denied medical care before eventually losing consciousness. Kristi Noem’s Department of Homeland Security claimed she was an agitator who was obstructing ICE agents conducting arrests in the area. Video footage of the incident has been viewed millions times already. In one clip, a masked agent smashes Rahman’s passenger side window while others cut her seatbelt and drag her out of the car through the driver’s side door. Numerous guards then carried her by her arms and legs towards an ICE vehicle. “I’m disabled trying to go to the doctor up there, that’s why I didn’t move,” a visibly distressed Rahman can be heard saying, gesturing down the street as officers pulled her arms behind her back. Rahman was caught in a “terrible and confusing position” and had “nowhere to go,” according to Alexa Van Brunt, Rahman’s attorney and director of the MacArthur Justice Center. “Her only options were to move her car forward in the direction of ICE officers and risk being accused of trying to harm them — which led to Renee Good’s death — or stay stationary, which in the end led to physical violence and abuse,” Van Brunt wrote in a statement. It is so good to be great again.
