Top Stories for October 2:

Trump spews INSANE nonsense at bizarre campaign rallies
Dementia Donnie hit the campaign trail in friendly red states in an attempt to rally his base and spark some momentum for the upcoming midterm elections…but it’s unclear if that’s going to work, considering how WEIRD his speeches were. In Texas, he declared that James Talarico was a vegan who “goes behind a tent to throw up” after eating meat, and then treated his rallygoes to this incredible avalance of nonsense:
“I buy a lot of equipment, farm equipment, because they have a lot of clubs, big clubs, big beautiful golf clubs and things, and I always say I want old equipment. I don’t want new equipment. I want old equipment. Do you have any old lawn mowers from 10 years ago that haven’t been destroyed by putting computers all over it? I got nice workers, but they didn’t go to MIT. If you weren’t first in your class at MIT. You can never turn the damn thing on, right?”
Things didn’t get much better in Oklahoma, where Trump mixed up Iran and Venezuela and then just…kept going, bragging that “they unloaded every single bomb—went right down air chutes into this, uhhh drug factories, really, that’s what they were doing. They were nuclear and drugs. They were doing drugs. These drug factoriesm, nuclear factories were hit so hard!” One might think that Trump himself was enjoying the products of the nuclear drug factory listening to this complete and utter drivel.
25th Amendment on day one of the new Congress, folks. It has to happen.
Take Action: Pass a national ban on partisan gerrymandering!

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Civil war erupts among Republicans over controversial ad
Brian Tyler Cohen breaks down the furor accidentally ignited by Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ latest anti-welfare ad, which paints lazy young white gamers as welfare queens…with the predictable response from the online right-wing, who are definitely not largely lazy young white gamers who were expecting something a little more racist.

UPSET OF THE CENTURY? New poll shows Dr. Annie Andrews BEATING Darline Graham
Dr. Annie Andrews for Senate: Strap in, everybody. A new poll shows Democrat Dr. Annie Andrews BEATING — not just tied with, but BEATING — Lindsey Graham’s sister Darline 43-39 in the race to become South Carolina’s next US senator. Graham is irrevocably tied to Trump and his disastrous economy, disastrous war, and disastrous data-center schemes. If we’re ever going to flip a South Carolina seat blue, this is the year to do it. Trump’s approval rating is underwater, even with Republicans, and the only thing Darline has to run on is Trump and his baggage. Chip in now to help make history and send Dr. Annie Andrews to the Senate!
Labor market faltered in September as jobs increased by just 29,000, unemployment rate rose to 4.2%
Stagnant job growth. Unemployment rising. Wages at their lowest growth in five years. Not exactly what Trump wants to see one month out of a major election.
Trump team is now looking to see if DOJ committed misconduct in investigating Richard Nixon’s Watergate
Beyond parody. Not content to just absolve himself of any and all wrongdoing, Trump’s team is now looking into the possiblity of whether or not the Special Counsel did a deep-state witch hunt against Richard Nixon, who very famously recorded himself discussing illegal activities on tape. The motive is clear: by discrediting the every possible criminal prosecution of a president, he builds himself a stronger claim for getting away with everything himself. It’s not going to work.

US to send third aircraft carrier towards Iran
As Trump’s illegal and fruitless war of choice against Iran drags into its eighth month, the Trump administration has decided “try what we did before, but from an even weaker position” is the move to spice things up again. A third carrier group is heading to the Middle East, along with a 2,000 strong Marine expeditionary group. By the end of November, three aircraft carriers and two amphibious landing groups will be positioned around Iran. What they will be able to accomplish with this that they haven’t been able to do in the past eight months is unclear.
Musk’s AI chatbot Grok reportedly encouraged Trump to capture Venezuela’s president
Oh, great, our demented president is now consulting the AI chatbot which once dubbed itself “MechaHitler.” What could go wrong?
Jasmine Crockett offered lobbying services on her campaign-funded website – while in office
If you haven’t been following Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s wild crash-out since losing the Senate primary to James Talarico, it’s been a doozy. She’s been publicly refusing to endorse Talarico’s campaign, paling around with domestic abuser Chris Brown, and now it appears she’s set up a pay-for-play section on her own fricking campaign website. Looking at the avalanche of Trump corruption and thinking “hey, why don’t I get in on this?” is proof enough that Texas made the right choice in nominating James Talarico to take on Ken Paxton.
America, the beautiful?
