With his ill-conceived and incredibly expensive war in Iran now in its fourth week, and with signs of mission creep inevitably seeping in, America’s wannabe dictator is clearly eyeing an off ramp — and a scapegoat. Speaking in Memphis yesterday, Trump not-so-subtly revealed exactly who his fall guy would be while plainly rewriting recent history.

“I said, ‘Let’s talk.’ We got a problem in the Middle East. We have a country known as Iran that, for 47 years, been just a purveyor of terror, and they’re very close to a nuclear weapon.” The president then explained what he viewed were his options. “We can keep going and get that 50,000 up to 55 and 60, there’s no end,” Trump said, referring to the military’s goal to recruit 60,000 new soldiers, “or we can take a stop and make a little journey into the Middle East and eliminate a big problem.”

“And I think, Pete, you were the first one to speak up,” the imbecile-in-chief said. “And you said, ‘Let’s do it.’ Because you cannot let them have a nuclear weapon.”

Why don’t you just hand him a grenade and pull the pin next time, Donnie?

During yesterday’s taping of his propaganda podcast, “War Room,” MAGA puppeteer and Trump confidant Steve Bannon spelled out in plain English what’s really going on with the regime’s deployment of armed ICE agents in American airports: “We can use this as a test run, as a test case, to really perfect ICE’s involvement in the 2026 midterms.”

This isn’t about alleviating long security checkpoint lines, or easing the strain on beleaguered TSA staff, who’ve now gone more than a month without pay. It is a “test run” for systematic voter suppression tactics the Trump regime intends to deploy to manipulate the outcome of the November elections. Full stop. If five-alarm fire bells aren’t ringing in everyone’s ears by now, it might be time to swap out the batteries. They are coming for our democracy, folks.

What is it with Republican administrations and their endless obsession with imperial meddling in the Middle East? Oh, right. Duh. Oil. According to The New York Times, the Trump regime is now weighing sending in about 3,000 troops (boots on the ground!) to support Donald’s catastrophic ~~war~~ little excursion in Iran, which may include seizing Kharg Island, the country’s main oil export hub. America’s wannabe dictator boasted 11 days ago that US forces had “executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.” Trump went on to claim that, “for reasons of decency,” he chose not to “wipe out” Kharg Island’s oil infrastructure. Decency, got it.

Talk that the United States may now simply try to seize the island may complicate negotiations Donald claims are currently taking place with Iran — negotiations, it should be noted, the Islamic regime has thus far emphatically denied. It really does feel like we’re making things up as we go on a minute-by-minute basis.

ICE agents deployed to nation’s swamped airports to stand around and do nothing
It became abundantly clear that Trump’s deployment of ICE agents to airports across America was not, in fact, a move designed to help get people through security checkpoints any quicker. Not unlike when the National Guard was deployed to protect Starbucks branches across Washington, DC, so too were imperiled airport Cinnabon kiosks secured as armed federal agents were spotted standing around, looking at their phones, and generally doing nothing.

The nation’s largest union of federal workers pointed out that deploying ICE to the airports was an idiotic move since none of these knuckledragging thugs are trained in airport security — heck, most of them aren’t properly trained to be *immigration agents* — adding further credence to Steve Bannon’s declaration that this deployment is solely a practice run to deploy ICE at polling stations in November. Just more colossal waste of public resources in order to pave the way for the dismantlement of our democracy. Nothing to see here, folks! Please remove all liquids from your carry-ons and move even more slowly along!

Yesterday, America’s nincompoop-in-chief decried mail-in voting as “mail-in cheating,” then immediately went to mail-in ~~vote~~ cheat himself in Florida’s upcoming special election…despite, you know, regularly spending loads of time in Florida golfing and schmoozing at Mar-a-Lago. Just another reminder that none of these agents of chaos actually believe anything they say and are hellbent on stripping rights from everyone else while enjoying undeserving and ever-greater spoils for themselves.
