Top Stories for October 24:

White House directly intervened to shut down Epstein files probe
The White House was involved in the FBI’s Epstein files cover-up all along. The FBI’s July 2025 Epstein files memo immediately blew up in the bureau’s face. Its declaration that there was no “client list,” no punishable co-conspirators, and no grounds for further investigation both infuriated the president’s MAGA voter base and started the long domino effect that would eventually oust ex–Attorney General Pam Bondi. Trump administration messages obtained by Raw Story revealed Friday that Taylor Budowich, then the White House deputy chief of staff, had his fingers in the FBI’s drafting process prior to the memo’s public release.

Democrat in must-win red-to-blue race hit with DERANGED attack from Trump
JoAnna Mendoza for Congress: Trump’s Super PAC has just released an absolutely unhinged new ad against veteran and top Democratic House candidate JoAnna Mendoza, pulling out the same anti-trans hysteria playbook of LIES that he used against Kamala Harris. It’s an all-hands-on-deck moment to fight back against this devious misinformation. Will you chip in to help Joanna flip this winnable red seat and take back control of Congress from the GOP?
Vivek Ramaswamy makes preposterous argument in feeble defense of vile attack ad
Vivek Ramaswamy is clearly feeling the heat for the morally reprehensible attack ad he released targeting his Democratic opponent for governor, Amy Acton, and on Friday tried to string together something resembling a rationale for why he stooped so low.
To hear Ramaswamy tell it, he was simply responding in kind because Acton brought up his mother earlier in the campaign. Only one small problem with Vivek’s explanation — Geetha Ramaswamy was accused of manipulating data to support evidence that a drug her son’s company, Axovant Sciences, owned the rights to could be used to effectively treat the symptoms of Alzheimer’s. The drug was, in fact, not effective, and Vivek’s mother, an employee of Axovant, was the subject of a formal investigation for her role in the matter.
All of this information was publicly available, and seeing how Vivek has touted his business bona fides to make his case to be Ohio’s next governor, it’s definitely fair game. To conflate Acton’s actions to the vile hit job he unveiled earlier this week featuring her estranged mother is beyond laughable.
Keep digging, Vivek. Lord knows you can go lower.

Trump says “perfect, beautiful woman” Katie Zacharia “freaked out” when she faced reporters for first time
Speaking at a pep rally in Florida on Friday, Donald Trump offered up a ludicrous explanation for why Katie Zacharia only lasted five disastrous days as White House press secretary.
The president painted the White House press pool — including many reporters covering the rally in person — as a rabid bunch of “screaming” “maniacs” on a mission to destroy a “perfect, beautiful woman,” then pivoted to a conversation between the two that definitely never happened: “You know what? There are nicer ways for you to make a living. You want to deal with these maniacs, you can deal if you want, but there are easier ways for you to live.”
Sure, Donnie. That’s exactly how Katie’s ignominious fall from grace went down…

Help your neighbors make the right decisions this November
National Latino Evangelical Coalition: Everyone has Christian friends, neighbors, or relatives, and they’ve probably been subjected to a LOT of misleading faith-based language that leads to them voting for people who distort Christian values and harm vulnerable communities. That’s why the National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NaLEC) has put together “With Love,” a Guide to Faithful Voting, presenting a set of questions rooted in Scripture to help voters think clearly before casting their ballots. It’s important that we encourage voters to go beyond one-issue voting, consider a candidate’s whole platform, and decide whether they will REALLY work toward the good of our communities. Ken Paxton’s ties to convicted fraudster exposed via blind trust
Well, well, well, what do we have here? Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his estranged wife, state Senator Angela Paxton, invested $600,000 into a business run by a known convicted fraudster. The Texas Tribune reports that the Paxtons gave the cash to a construction materials business run by Scott Sherman, a home builder who pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud in 2014, through what was presented to the public as a blind trust, but in reality was anything but.
The Paxtons’ business activities were very much not shielded, and Sherman’s companies sent the couple tens of thousands of dollars while they were facing mounting tax debts.
Turns out when Paxton said “in Texas, we fight fraud head-on” he meant “we fight for fraud head-on.” You can have nice things, Texas! Give James Talarico a chance!
